So here we are.
The Shave Cup website
is under construction.
How’s it work?
You are the Maker. The cup and
the brush knob can be made from whatever you want as long as it conforms generally to the measurements listed. If it’s wood, pieces should have a couple coats of poly, and the bowl where the soap
sits needs to be epoxied.
If you like the wood look, where can you find someone to turn one? Search for a local woodturners association.
If they want to share in your venture
of listing it on the auction, then they will probably use their own wood
and not charge for their labor, otherwise it’s a negotiated deal.
Once finished, send it to TSC Milwaukee where we’ll do the provenance, a branded catalog number on the bottom that corresponds to a record of the date, Maker/Artist, state, material and
a description of the cup’s appearance.
If there’s a story behind the look?
Send it. But keep it under 1,000 words.
How many cups will TSC auction a week? Unknown currently. We’re going to start off slow.
Along with each auction, TSC will do a series of 21 limited editions prints per cup. TSC keeps one for its records and the other 20 go to the highest bidders, ranked at 25% of the winning bid.
This is a General Outline that we are still working on. Things can change. What percentage will TSC take? Good question.
We all have talent; The Shave Cup
is a blank, a way to show the world how you do you.
